As soon as I got the all clear, despite not feeling hundred percent, I encouraged myself to have more things to look forward to and excitedly that meant it was time to start ticking a few things off the bucket list I created whilst I was undergoing treatment.
First up on that list was one of my favourite things to do- travelling!! and being told I was cancer free in June meant one thing- I could still make my yearly pilgrimage to the sunny isle of Ibiza in August with the crew! It was going to be our 4thyear in a row and I was happy I wasn’t going to miss it, then at the same time as booking Ibiza I had a wild “YOLO” (you only live once) moment and booked two more trips- 1: A solo trip to go and see two of my closest friends in New York in September and 2: As a thankyou present to one of my besties for sticking by my side through my illness I treated us both to a 5 star, all-inclusive December break to her favourite place in the world, Jamaica. 3 holidays booked so far- whoopee!
As predicted both Ibiza and New York were amazing and although I wasn’t hundred percent back to health it was great to be out and living again and I was slowly starting to feel more positive. With Jamaica looming in December I definitely had the travel bug and craved another trip- so myself and a few friends decided to go to Amsterdam for a few days for their annual Garage Nation festival in November… as you can imagine Amsterdam was amazing and Jamaica which followed soon after was breath taking (Sorry Barbados, JA is now my favourite Caribbean island! Sorry- Lol).
And if that weren’t enough whilst in Jamaica I set my sights on organising a trip I had been dreaming about for years. Spending my new year abroad. The destination of choice- Barcelona and the rest was history- I had the best start to the new year I had ever experienced and that trip was my favourite one out of them all.
